Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival in Whitehorse
Welcome to Whitehorse, capital of the Yukon! Your guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your downtown hotel. After you are settled in, we will leave to go visit the Wildlife Preserve where you will see, in a natural enclosed environment, a variety of the animals you can encounter in the territory. We will then head back to the capital and there will be time to explore around and enjoy a nice meal and one of the local beers in one of the very unique Yukon’s style pubs. Day 2 : Whitehorse - Ruby Range Lodge
Today the real adventure starts! After a nice breakfast, we will drive on the Alaska highway to Destruction Bay. The road is a breathtaking experience in itself as the landscapes become more and more rugged and wild especially approaching Haines Junction and in the Kluane Lake Area. Once arrived in Destruction Bay, we will start our snowmobile journey to Ruby Range’s lodge. You will soon be totally immersed in Yukon’s wilderness and disconnect from the real world. The rest of the day will be spent exploring around the lodge and enjoying a delicious meal away from the cold winter night. (Overnight accommodation in Ruby Range lodge)
Day 3 : Ruby Range Lodge
Today, you will wake up in a magical place, far away from everything you know. We will start the day with a good breakfast and then leave with the snowmobiles for a 2 hours ride in the area surrounding the lodge. It will be followed by a snow shoe outing in the pristine wilderness and you might have the chance to see some wildlife. You will learn about what is like to be a trapper in the Great North as we teach you how to set trap lines and show you how the tanning of animal hides is done. Ice fishing is also on the program and with a bit of luck, you can catch Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, or Arctic Grayling. We will spend another night under the stars at the lodge and you will get to witness the indescribable beauty of the northern lights. (Overnight accommodation in Ruby Range lodge)
Day 4 : Ruby Range Lodge - Whitehorse
Today, we leave the lodge and head back to Destruction Bay with the snowmobiles. We will then drive back towards Whitehorse and stop at the Takhini Hots Springs for a lovely soak in the warms pools, a favorite of all winter visitors. Then, it will be the perfect time to enjoy one last good meal together and talk about all the adventures of the past few days. (Overnight hotel accommodation in Whitehorse)
Day 5 : Departure Whitehorse
On the last day of the program, Ruby Range Adventure will provide a transfer to the airport or to a connecting program. (End of tour services)
